Reflection
1. How do you plan to use the assessment results to improve student learning?
I plan to use the data to evaluate my students and make my small groups during RTI. The data can also help me formulate my groups and decide what each group needs during RTI. I also decide how to adjust the practice in my centers, and I have developed an answer sheet to hold students accountable for their learning. I will also be implementing more lessons on galaxy.com to help my high kids develop more of their skills to move up.
2. How will the results influence your instructional design and delivery? The results help me decide what the over all design should look like. I will plan for the end in mind rather than just planning for the TEK. For example, I have some kids that need help with deciding when to add or subtract, some have problems with the actual operations, and some need to move on. This data helps us decide which kids need what.
3. How will you monitor each student’s progress towards their goals and adjust instruction? I have been giving students formative assessments to practice their skill, and I decide from the data if the student still needs more practice or is ready to move on to more advance material. I also have been giving the students differentiated practice for homework as well. The data has been kept on a progress monitoring data sheet to show how each student is progressing. I have added another step that allows students to look at their data and add it to their data sheets to help them monitor their own learning.
